SSC CHSL Admit Card 2018 for Tier 1 Exam has been released by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). SSC will conduct CHSL Tier 1 Exam from 04.03.2018 to 26.03.2018. Candidate needs to use their Registration number and date of birth to download the Admit card from SSC website. Admit card is available region wise so the candidate needs to visit their region SSC website to download the admit card 2018. Candidate can download the admit by clicking the link given on this page directly or candidate can visit the official website to download the exam admit card.

SSC CHSL Exam 2017 Details


Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has invited online application form for SSC CHSL - Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam 2017 (Tier I).Online Registration will Start on 18th-11-2017 and the last date of registration will be on 27th-12-2017 (Date Extended). SSC will conduct CHSL Tier 1 Exam from 04.03.2018 to 26.03.2018 . SSC will conduct Tier 2 (Descriptive Paper) on 08-07-2018.SSC has released the official notification, the intrested candidate can read the notification before applying for the post.

SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam has three Phases (Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3). Candidate needs to clear all the phases to get the job. SSC CHSL Tier 1 is Objective Multiple choices questions, Tier 2 is the Descriptive paper in English / Hindi medium, and the last Tier 3 is Computer Proficiency Test.

Age and Eligibility

    1. Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University
    2. For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Syllabus

Tier 1 is an Objective exam and has 100 questions with an account of total 200 marks. Candidates have 60 minutes to solve these 100 questions. There are four section - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Below are the details in the tabular form.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Syllabus

General Intelligence:

  • It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/ pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations.

English Language:

  • Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.

Quantitative Aptitude:

  1. Number Systems:
    • Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers
  2. Fundamental arithmetical operations:
    • Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.
  3. Algebra:
    • Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations
  4. Geometry:
    • Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
  5. Mensuration:
    • Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base
  6. Trigonometry:
    • Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin2 + Cos2 =1 etc.,
  7. Statistical Charts:
    • Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar- diagram, Pie-chart.

General Awareness:

  • Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

Note: For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability and opting for SCRIBES there will be no component of Maps/ Graphs/ Diagrams/ Statistical Data in the General Intelligence & Reasoning/ Quantitative Aptitude.


Negative Marking Details:

There is negative marking in SSC CHSL 10+2, For every wrong answer in any section will lead to a penalty of 0.5 marks.

SSC CHSL Tier 2 Syllabus

SSC CHSL Tier 2 exam is the Written test(descriptive exam). Candidate needs to write one article and one letter.The duration of the paper would be for one hour (20 minutes compensatory time will also be provided to the candidates mentioned in Para 7 above). This paper has been introduced to assess the writing skills of the candidates which is necessary in Government jobs. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/ Application of approximately 150-200 words. Candidate can opt either English or Hindi medium to give the Descriptive exam.The Minimum qualifying marks for Tier 2 is 33 percent. However, SSC include Tier 2 marks for preparing the merit list

SSC CHSL Tier 3 is Computer Proficiency Test. It is required for certain Government Posts.For Detail information please read the notification.
